A dry and thirsty land

Sharon out by the road with our pile of bags waiting for anything that will stop and pick us up...which ended up being a bus this time. This is one place, though, where we do a fair amount of 'hitch-hiking'...which is rather beside the point.

Wheat harvest is in full swing here. The stuff is short but looks not-too-bad, for the most part. Good weather for harvesting...hot and dry. There are combines everywhere. And each year, there are more and more of the familiar names from 'home': Massey-Fergusons; Klaus (is that how it's spelled? Can't remember); John Deere's (although these are still fairly rare). Have not yet seen the kind that the big guys back home have- you know, a/c, fancy seats, computers- stuff like that.
